I Tried Clothing Rental Subscription Services for my Vacation - Here’s the Top Services to Try in 2021!
As I was preparing for my recent trip to Jamaica on Christmas Eve, I started panicking because I didn’t have any clothes that fit me (quarantine weight lol) and I was afraid that I wouldn’t get my clothes on time via Poshmark (My November order took 29 days!!). This led me to turn to the world of subscription clothing rentals!
I personally have never tried a clothing subscription rental service until recently but I heard great things from my older sister and previous influencer client for who I secured an RTR deal in 2019. The first brand I signed up for was Rent the Runway of course! There was a new year deal and I scored my first month for $69!
One thing about rental subscriptions is that it is a TIME INVESTMENT to find the clothing styles that you like! I probably spent around two hours on RTR narrowing down my clothing selections for my vacation by hearting my selections. From there, I needed to narrow my selections down to four items, and here are my selections below:
From there I went to researching other rental subscription brands and came across brands like Haverdash, Nuuly, and Armoire Style. I decided for this trip I was only going to try out two companies and I settled with Haverdash because I got my first month free! Truth be told, Haverdash didn’t have a lot of styles that I desired for my vacation like RTR, however, I really loved the styling of the pictures that showcased a diverse range of models/identities. With my subscription with Haverdash, I was only able to select three items to ship and couldn’t directly pick what I wanted but instead “prioritize” them. If I wanted a guarantee of a certain item I could pay an extra $5 to guarantee it’d be in my first shipment.
One more thing to note, Haverdash and Nuuly have a few of the same items! I noticed this while scrolling through the Nuuly site - I ultimately didn’t subscribe because Haverdash was free. After reviewing the inventory for more than 8 clothing subscription services, here are my recommendations for you all to try out this year below.
